THE MOST HAUNTED FORT IN INDIA - BHANGARH FORT

When I was a child my mother used to tell me ghost stories to make me sleep, to eat and to keep me quite. That sounds unbelievable😉, Right??  Yes... Though we believe that ghost stories are bullshit , we get fascinated by them. India being a home for oldest civilizations, great empires, is bound to have a fair share of ghosts and haunted places of its own.

Bhangarh Fort ranks first among the most haunted place in India. It is the only legally haunted place in India recognized by the Archaeological Survey of India. The bhangarh fort was built in 1573 AD by Kachwaha Rajput ruler Raja Bhagwant Singh for his younger son Madho Singh.

LEGENDS ABOUT BHANGARH FORT :

  1. LOVE-HATE STORY:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      There are many stories that explain the cause for the doom of this fort. There was a princess called ratnavati who was an exceptional beauty. A sorceror fell in love with this beautiful princess though he knew that he cannot get her. In order to get her, he cast a spell on the perfume which was supposed to be used by the princess. Ratnavti gets to know about this trick and threw the perfume bottle onto a rock. The rock crushed the sorceror. But before his last breath is gone he cursed the princess, the royal family and the entire village.
  2. SHADOW THAT LED TO THE DOOM:                                                                                                                                                                                                                 King Madho Singh got a permission from a Sadhu, Guru Balu Nath to build the city on a condition that the city will be destroyed once the shadow of the king's palace  falls on his hut. But the shadow of palace did fall on the hut leading to the doom of the fort.

LOCATION :                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Bhangarh fort or Bhangarh ka kila  is located in the district of Alwar of Rajasthan. KEEP THIS IN MIND :

The best time to visit Bhangarh fort is from October to march .
Nobody is allowed inside the fort before sunrise and after sunset as per ASI regulations. People believe that spirits and ghosts wander inside the fort after sunset. BEWARE😜.
CONCLUSION :
Even if the current Science and Technology advances 1000 folds, the beliefs (myth?) about ghosts will not fade . People debate about the existence of ghosts. Even if you are a believer or nonbeliever, make a trip to Bhangarh fort and find the answer with your experience.
Though it is beyond scientific understanding and against the laws of nature,  it is undoubtedly true that the fort is an example for the long lost cultural heritage of India. The astonishingly beautiful fort welcomes you, mesmerizes you  and boosts up your adventurous spirit.
